What is Paste Filling Technology?
Paste Filling is an advanced and eco-friendly mining technology wherein mine voids are filled with a specially prepared paste made by mixing fly ash, tailings, or other mine waste with water and cementitious binders.
This technique enhances underground stability and safety, while significantly reducing surface waste disposal challenges. It plays a vital role in protecting surface water bodies, minimizing land degradation, and promoting sustainable mining operations.
By adopting this technology at Singhali UG Mine, SECL has taken yet another progressive step towards green and safe mining, in alignment with Coal India’s broader vision for sustainability and innovation in the coal sector.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all departments and teams involved in bringing this landmark project to fruition.
