The Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), Jayanta Kumar Khamari passed away on Wednesday following a tragic road mishap near Raigarh in Chhattisgarh.

Khamari, 50, was an Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) officer. He joined SECL on deputation as CVO on May 24, 2023.

According to SECL officials, he had gone to Mahanadi Coalfields Limited on official work and met with a tragic accident while returning from Sambalpur on June 5, 2024. The government vehicle Innova collided with a trailer near Raigarh in which he was badly injured.

Khamari was rushed to Jindal Hospital at Raigarh in Chhattisgarh. He was later airlifted to Medanta Hospital, Delhi for better medical care. Despite all efforts, he could not be saved. Khamari passed away today.

The entire SECL family is shocked by the demise of Khamari. The SECL family prayed for the peace of the departed soul and to give strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
