SECL turns scrap into beautiful sculptures of chandrayaan

The Special Campaign 3.0 of the Government of India is being implemented on a large scale by the South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), an arm of Coal India Limited (CIL).

SECL is leading among all the subsidiary companies of Coal India in cleaning and scrap disposal of identified sites. In this campaign which started from 2nd October till 31st October, SECL has so far cleaned more than 90 sites in the headquarter and various operational areas and thus an area of more than 21 lakh square feet has been cleaned.

Talking about scrap disposal, the company has so far removed more than 1500 metric tons of scrap, generating a revenue of more than Rs 8 crore. The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Government of India has announced to run Special Campaign 3.0 from October 2 to October 31 this year, in which special focus will be given on cleanliness and disposal of scrap/junk along with disposal of pending files in government offices.

Apart from cleanliness and scrap disposal, special attention is also being given to disposal of pending files by SECL. Under Special Drive 3.0, about 1,000 files and 5,500 e-files are being reviewed by SECL.
The company is working at a fast pace for quick disposal of complaints in CPGRAMS. As a result, the time taken by SECL to resolve public grievances has reduced significantly. The average time taken to resolve complaints in the time period 1.10.2022 to 30.09.2023 has come down to about 8 days.

SECL has took this campaign as an opportunity to make best use of the waste by converting the mining scrap material recovered under the drive into beautiful statues. 4 beautiful art pieces have been created using scrap and installed in a public park in SECL’s Jamuna Kotma area. In SECL’s hasdev area a beautiful artwork of Chandrayaan rocket has been made from scrap.
