A high-level review meeting of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) and South Eastern Central Railway (SECR) was held on Friday to comprehensively review the progress of overall operational performance of CERL, CEWRL and Coal India’s Chhattisgarh arm.

The meeting was jointly chaired by CMD SECL Harish Duhan and GM SECR Tarun Prakash. CMD IRCON Hari Mohan Gupta, CMD RITES Rahul Mithal, senior officials of SECL and SECR and representatives of IPRCL were present in the meeting.

In the meeting, SECL’s current performance, roadmap for increasing rail-dispatch capacity and status of major rail-link infrastructure projects were discussed extensively. The officials emphasised for close coordination between IRCON, RITES and IPRCL to identify the bottlenecks for clearing the hurdles in the execution of the time-bound construction of CERL and CEWRL projects.

SECL and SECR both reiterated that mutual cooperation and coordination will be given top priority to keep coal logistics seamless, efficient and timely.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was informed that SECL recorded the best monthly rail-dispatch performance in its history by loading 1,767 rakes in November 2025, which was appreciated by GM SECR.
