Company creates a new record by achieving the target 16 days before the end of the financial year

South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), an arm of Coal India Limited (CIL), on Saturday crossed the mark of 310 million cubic meters in OBR (Overburden Removal) and achieved the target set for the current financial year 2023-24.
SECL has created a new record by achieving the target 16 days before the end of financial year 23-24 and now in this financial year the company is set to create a new record of highest OBR in its history. SECL has already crossed last year’s production and dispatch figures.
If compared to last year, till March 15 last year the company had around 248 million cubic meter OBR and thus this year the company has registered a historic growth of 24.64 per cent (61.32 million cubic meter). All three megaprojects Gevra, Dipka, and Kusmunda hava contributed significantly in this milestone of the company.
Congratulating everyone on this achievement of SECL, CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra said that no goal is too big against the hard work, dedication and courage of our brave colleagues and every employee of the company has the ability to overcome any challenge no matter how big it is.
The world’s largest and most modern machines are used for OBR in SECL, which include vertical ripper which is capable of removing soil without blasting, 42 cubic meter shovel and 240 tonne dumper, 381 mm drill machine etc.
