Bijapur Superintendent of Police Dr Jitendra Kumar Yadav said that the operation was based on credible intelligence inputs. The neutralized Maoists were identified as Hidma Podiyam (PLGA Company No. 02, Platoon No. 01, reward Rs 8 lakh), Munna Madkam (PLGA Company No. 02, Platoon No. 01, reward Rs 8 lakh) and CYPC-DVCM Arun Madkam (PLGA Company No. 02, reward Rs 8 lakh)
Total recoveries after both encounters included one .303 rifle, two 12-bore guns, one BGL launcher, explosives, batteries, codex wires, scanner set, Maoist literature, and other material.
Bastar Range Inspector General of Police Sundarraj P asserted that the momentum achieved in 2024 is being successfully carried forward in 2025 through intensive and continuous operations.
From January 2024 to September 13, 2025, a total of 432 hardcore Maoists had been neutralized — a testament to effective strategy, courageous action, and public support. Recently, the killing of Central Committee Member Modem Balakrishna alias Manoj in Gariyaband and the surrender of another Central Committee Member, Sujatha alias Kalpana, have also dealt a severe blow to the CPI (Maoist).
Sundarraj reaffirmed that the fight against Left Wing Extremism will continue with full determination, strength, and commitment until it is completely eradicated.
