Bollywood star Shekhar Suman on Wednesday demanded a CBI probe into the abduction of his brother-in-law (Bahnoi), Dr Sanjay Kumar.
The controller of examinations and head of the department of Pharmacology in Nalanda Medical College Hospital, Dr Sanjay Kumar is missing for the last 22 days. His wife Prof Saloni, who is a professor in College of Commerce here, had lodged an FIR with Patrakar nagar police station here on March 1 alleging her husband ‘s car was found abandoned on Gandhi Bridge towards Vaishali district. His mobile set and spectacle were also in the car.
Shekhar Suman, who reached here from Mumbai met his sister and talked to her for six hours. He told media here, “Police is still clueless. They are not telling my sister of the progress of the investigation so far. I will meet the Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar and request him to hand over the probe to the CBI”.
He claimed sister told him there was no problem on personal or professional level with Dr Sanjay Kumar. He had told his wife he was going to Muzaffarpur, 80 km from here for an inspection, but never returned. There was no CCTV on the bridge, according to Shekhar.
Even after 22 days, police could not share any information with Dr Sanjay’s family, he claimed. There is still no lead in the investigation. Dr Sanjay had no enmity with any one. He was leading a simple life.
Central Forensic Science laboratory experts, who visited the place where Doctor’s car was found abandoned, have found some evidence to suggest that he was going towards Hajipur on foot. Police have started investigations in 47 unnatural deaths in nine police stations between Patna and Begusarai on the banks of the Ganga.
One of the relatives of Dr Sanjay Kumar is an additional DG of Police in Uttar Pradesh. He had also telephoned to senior officers here to trace the missing doctor who is feared to had been kidnapped.
