Vishnu Deo Sai attends Shiv Mahapuran Katha organised in sacred memory of Smt. Heeraben Modi

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that Sanatan traditions and spiritual discourses strengthen morality, values, and social harmony in society.

He was addressing the gathering at the Shri Shiv Mahapuran Katha being organised at village Khamhar in the Bargadh Khola region of Raigarh district on Friday.

The Shiv Mahapuran Katha is being organised as a tribute in the sacred memory of Smt. Heeraben Modi, the mother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On the occasion, the Chief Minister performed rituals and offered prayers to Lord Shiva, seeking happiness and prosperity for the people of the state. He also met internationally renowned child Kathavachak Shri Krishna Dubey Maharaj and received his blessings.

Referring to Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural and religious heritage, Sai said the state is the sacred land where Lord Shri Ram spent a major part of his exile. The glory of Mata Shabari’s offering of berries continues to resonate even today. He noted with pride that during the consecration ceremony at the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, ‘prasad’ prepared from aromatic rice grown in Chhattisgarh was offered, marking a moment of honour for the state.

The Chief Minister said that under the Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana, over 40,000 devotees have visited Ayodhya in the last two years. Under the Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana, more than 5,000 senior citizens have so far benefited through pilgrimages to 19 identified holy sites. Finance Minister O P Choudhary also addressed the gathering.

The Shiv Mahapuran Katha is being narrated in a melodious style by internationally acclaimed child Kathavachak Shri Krishna Dubey Maharaj from Akola (Maharashtra), vividly portraying the divine life and character of Lord Shiva, Mata Parvati, and the complete Shiv Charitra.

The programme was attended by Lok Sabha MP including Radheshyam Rathia, Lok Sabha MP Smt. Kamlesh Jangde, Rajya Sabha MP Devendra Pratap Singh, District Panchayat President Smt. Shikha Gabel, Raigarh Mayor Jeevardhan Chauhan, Kharsia Municipal Council President Kamal Garg, along with several other public representatives and a large number of devotees.
