Their names were mentioned in the suicide note written by 50 years old Kedarlal Gupta, a fruit vendor of New Area Gadh locality of the district headquarters.
Gupta, his wife, two daughters and two sons consumed poison late Wednesday night and they were found gasping for breath this morning by the neighbours. Five died in the house, while the 20 years old daughter died at Vardhwan Medical College hospital after giving a dying declaration in which she blamed the money lenders who used to harass the family for the last six months.
The two-page suicide note alleged Gupta had returned the loan with five times interest, still the money lenders were harassing the family for more recovery. In his handwritten note Gupta wrote, “They are curse on the society, these sharks are harassing us. In the last five years, I have cleared all debts, still they are demanding more and more.”
