Six workers were killed while 10 others were reportedly injured in an industrial accident at Balodabazar district in Chhattisgarh on Thursday.
The tragic accident took place at the Real Ispat and Power plant located in Balodabazar district. Reports reaching from the district said labourers were working when the furnace exploded in a powerful blast.
The impact of the explosion was so severe that workers got trapped in the debris. Chaos broke out in the plant premises even as workers started rescue operation before the reinforcement.
Sources said six workers died on the spot while 10 others were injured, who were first taken to community health center of Bhatapara. After first aid, they were referred to Bilaspur due to critical condition.
Chhattisgarh Minister Tank Ram Verma said a thorough investigation would be conducted to establish under what circumstances the incident occurred and was were proper security arrangement.
