While the Congress is reeling under serious crises flared up in the milieu of marginalizing grass-root workers, Rajasthan is set to start a new inning of dynasty politics.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot`s son Vaibhav has taken over the command to deal with the present political crises in the state. The development literally underlines that Ashok Gehlot’s succession in Rajasthan politics has been selected; sidelining those who have worked for party for long including rebel Sachin Pilot.
The powers and achievements of Sachin Pilot, who revived Congress in Rajasthan, were rarely acknowledged by Gehlot for last long time. The event finally spilled out in open; triggering the deputy chief minister to raise a revolt.
Failing to learn a lesson from Madhya Pradesh where Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia’s move cost Congress its government in the state, the party played down the simmering resentment in Rajasthan cadre. Instead of defusing the situation, the party is now promoting Gehlot-II, bestowing bigger role in party politics at a time dynasty politics remains a hot topic among Congress cadre.
“The BJP is “conspiring” to topple Congress-led state government in the state,” Ashok Gehlot`s son Vaibhav fumed while addressing party supporters during a protest rally in Jaipur against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). For the last one and half years, they have worked for farmers, have effectively tackled coronavirus, he said, adding that BJP cannot deal with it and hence they are conspiring to topple Congress-led Rajasthan government.
In the facebook message, Vaibhav commented that addressed the program on the call of the state Congress committee against the conspiracy of democracy in Rajasthan by the BJP on the occasion of the demonstration in Jaipur.
The Congress protest seems to be off track. For, instead of keeping its house in order in Madhya Pradesh or Rajasthan, it has put the ball in BJP’s court.
