Hindustan Organic Chemicals Limited (HOCL), a PSU under the  Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has been granted  Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for all its products.

HOCL, has been a pioneer in the manufacturing of Chemicals since its inception and quality is its motto since then. The company is supporting and implementing the Make in India initiative of the Government of India in one or other way.

Located about 15 kms away from Ernakulam city, HOCL Kochi unit at Ambalamugal was commissioned in the year 1987 to manufacture Phenol and Acetone. The installed capacity is 40,000 TPA of Phenol and 24640 TPA of Acetone. A new project was commissioned in the year 1997 to manufacture Hydrogen Peroxide with an installed capacity of 5225 TPA.

All the products of the company are widely being accepted, especially in the Pharmaceutical industry where the highest product quality is called for.

HOCL is also an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified Organisation. Now, as a proof to continuing its endeavor to achieve superior quality in its products, it has been granted BIS Certification for all the products.  as given below.

HOCL, a leader in the chemical industry has been manufacturing organic chemicals essential for vital industries like Drugs and pharmaceuticals, resins and laminates, dyes and dyes intermediates, rubber chemicals, paints, pesticides and Textile industry, virtually touching every facet of life.

It is also manufacturing sanitizers presently as part of its responsibility to combat COVID pandemic.

HOCL incorporated in 1960 as the first endeavor to indigenize manufacture of basic chemicals, attaining self-reliance and reducing the country’s dependence on imports of vital organic chemicals. It is the second largest producer of Phenol and Acetone in India.
