Star Agronomics Limited, an arm of central India’s biggest diversified company Star Group, had expressed interest to set up a cement plant in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna district.
The Chairman of Star Group, Ramesh Singh today met Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and discussed the project. He was among other industrialists including Makson Group’s Rajendra Patel who called on Chouhan to explore the possibilities of investment in the state.
The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister informed the industrialists about the “Start your business in 30 days” scheme launched by the state government to attract investors. “The focus is not only on the new investment; the state government would also promote the expansion of existing,” he said.
The state government spokesperson said the Star Group Chairman Ramesh Singh had informed that the company planned to set up 1.5 million tonne per annum integrated Greenfield cement plant in Satna with an investment of Rs 900 crore. It would generate employment opportunities for over 800 people.
The Makson Group had expressed interest in investing in the pharmaceutical sector in Madhya Pradesh.
