Steelman donates plasma

Simanchal Gouda of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) does not make only steel!

The plasma donated by him would help critical Covid-19 patients. The young executive at RSP, an arm of state-run Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) had set a precedent as “corona warriors”.

He was first plasma donor at the plasma bank set up at Ispat General hospital run by the RSP-SAIL. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had inaugurated third Plasma Bank of the State in Rourkela last week.

He urged COVID survivors to come forward and donate their plasma. Each unit of plasma can be used for the treatment of two critical COVID-19 patients. As per the SOP, a COVID survivor, 28-days post recovery can donate plasma.

Simanchal Gouda, who defeated Coronavirus was the first person to donate his plasma at IGH’s new facility.

The Rourkela Steel Plant felicitated him for his spirit to help others in combating the novel Coronavirus.
