Coal India Ltd (CIL) reported production of 57.57 MT in Apr’23 as compared to 53.47 MT in Apr’22, representing an increase of 7.67 per cent.

MCL has produced about 140 million tonne coal as on date, with a growth of 15 per cent over the same period last financial year.

Coal stocks at 12.5 million tonne to rise further as company pushes for higher production.

The state-run miner had accelerated the process to transport coal through the tracks and loaded 372.5 rakes on March 19, 2021

The company on Friday despatched 80 rakes, the highest ever on a single day.
