The action came within hours of the blast at the entrance of a mosque in Kabul on Sunday in which at least eight people were killed and 20 others wounded. The operation was carried out the operation in the north of Kabul on Sunday evening.

The Daesh’s Khorasan chapter, ISKP, had taken the responsibility for deadly shooting in eastern Nangarhar province that claimed the lives of two Taliban members and a journalist.

IS has shown signs it is expanding its footprint beyond the east and closer toward the capital. Maintains a strong presence in the eastern province of Nangarhar, IS considers the Taliban an enemy.
