Tata Steel launches Felt Leadership Program 2.0 for excellence in safety

Tata Steel launched Felt Leadership Program 2.0, reiterating it’s commitment towards Safety Excellence.

The developments are considering the upcoming safety challenges and learnings from past. The programme is a new behaviour-based safety model for employees.

Sanjiv Paul, Vice President Safety Health & Sustainability Tata Steel and Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President Corporate Services Tata Steel formally inaugurated the programme on December 21, 2021 Tuesday.  Heads of Corporate Services (CS), West Bokaro & Jharia Division, Noamundi, Ranchi and Jamshedpur offices participated in the launch session. Chief Safety and Chief Corporate Social Responsibility also graced the occasion.

In his speech, VP SHS, Paul emphasised on having strong leadership role in terms of involvement and commitment for safety at workplace. He said, this is the time to learn on how we can prevent injuries that we couldn’t prevent so far. Based upon these learning it is right time to take initiatives, create a deployment plan and get the desired results.  He thanked the team of CS for taking this pilot initiative.

VP CS, Chaudhary said that Safety is a top-driven initiative and leaders are key to make respective workplaces injury-free. He added that the time has come to focus on real-time workplace hazards and ensure water-tight mitigation measures.

In his address, Chief CSR requested all leaders to prioritise the cause of safety in their professional and personal life. By following the rules, SOPs and Standards, we can get our desired results and the Management is there to support.

Chief Safety outlined the entire “Felt Leadership Program 2.0” and explained the long-term project spanning till 2025. He informed that approximately 6,600 officers and 24,000 other employees will be covered under this programme. The programme has been designed level wise and training will be imparted by competent trainers.
