Jamshedpur, July 26
An evacuation drill was conducted at Kerala Samajam Model School by SAFE (Safety Awareness for Everyone) with the help of the Security and Fire Services team of Tata Steel.
Around 3200 students participated in the mock drill.
Students were apprised about processes to be followed, like emergency response plan, routes to be followed, headcount after evacuation, and other necessary protocols. The condition of fire extinguishers in the school were also checked as part of the drill.
Mom Mitra, Convener SAFE and Manager, Safety, Tata Steel and Rakesh Joshi, Senior Manager, Fire Brigade, Tata Steel facilitated the mock drill. The school Vice Principals Rajan Kaur, Reena Banerjee, Sujata Singh, Abraham A L and SAFE Coordinator, Pushpa Ojha were also present at the occasion.
SAFE organises these training sessions regularly to increase safety awareness among school children on various topics.
The SAFE club is a conglomerate of schools of Jamshedpur chaired by Ruchi Narendran. Tata Steel facilitates this initiative by organizing training on various topics and conducting mock drills for schools.
