Tata Steel’s Noamundi iron mine wins 1st prize in ‘Mines Safety Award’ by DGMS

Tata Steel’s Noamundi Iron Mine, has been honoured with the first prize for outstanding performance in the “Metal Above Ground – Large” category at the Mines Safety Award-2024, organised by All India Mines Safety Association under the aegis of Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS) at Kolkata on Sunday.

The award was presented by Prabhat Kumar, Director General of DGMS, at the award ceremony hosted at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in Kolkata.

Representatives from Noamundi Iron Mine, including Atul Kumar Bhatnagar, General Manager, (OMQ), D Vijayendra, Agent, Noamundi Iron Mine and Abhaya Kumar Gupta, Head Safety (OMQ), were present to receive the award.

Noamundi Iron Mine located in Jharkhand, is one of the oldest mines in India and is currently celebrating its centenary year. The recognition highlights the exceptional safety standards and practices implemented at Noamundi Iron Mine.
