The ratio of number of teachers and students in Chhattisgarh is better than the national ratio while the state plans to post subject specialist teachers in all schools.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, while giving information about school education in the Question Hour in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly today, said that the ratio of teachers and students in Chhattisgarh had been better than the national ratio. He said that there is one teacher for 26 students in the country, whereas there is one teacher for 21 students in Chhattisgarh.
There were some irregularities in the posting of teachers till now. Due to which the shortage of teachers was being reflected. For these reasons, rationalization will be the first priority, Sai said.
In some schools where there is subject faculty, there are no teachers, where there is no subject faculty, there are teachers. At some places, there are teachers for much less students than the state ratio. At some places, there is one teacher for 4-5 students. “Such schools are being identified for the process of rationalization and soon teachers will be posted in all schools,” the Chief Minister said, adding that it will make teachers available in all schools and the level of education will become even better.
The Chief Minister also said that along with the arrangement of teachers, they are also working on infrastructure development. He added that the rationalization being done by the government will have a positive impact on the education system of the state and teachers will be available even in those schools where education is being affected due to lack of teachers.
