In a closely guarded secret, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, youngest son of the RJD President, Lalu Prasad married his school days friend Rachel at the farmhouse of his eldest sister Misa Bharti on Thursday noon.
Rachel and Tejashwi had studied at Delhi Public School, R K Puram when Lalu Prasad was railway minister. She is daughter of a leading business man of Haryana.
Tejashwi, who is leader of opposition to Bihar assembly and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, had kept the news of his marriage secret even to his personal staff in the assembly and 10, Circular Road bungalow at Patna
His marriage was confirmed by younger sister, Ms Rohini Acharya, who wished the newly-wed couple” lifetime of happiness”
Brief marriage ceremony was attended by the former Chief Minister and Tejashwi mother’s Ms Rabri Devi, sister Misa Bharti, brother Tejpratap Yadav and other sisters only. A Hindu priest performed wedding rituals.
RJD Bihar unit president, Jagdanand Singh, who admitted he had no information, wished Tejashwi good luck and hoped the marriage will have no adverse effect on Lalu Prasad family and party.
He was obviously referring to rifts in the family of Tejpratap, elder son of Lalu which led to divorce with his wife within an year of their marriage and public display of differences between senior leaders of the party and Tejpratap.
Chirag Paswan, LJP president and son of late Ramvilas Paswan, said he would marry in a grand way and would not keep wedding events secret like Tejashwi.
No outsider was present. RJD president, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Samajwadi party president, Akhilesh Yadav, who are related as one of the seven daughters of Lalu is married to cousin of former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, were also present to bless the couple.
