TThe Sachivalaya police station staff and the security guards posted at 10, Circular Road bungalow of former Chief Minister Rabri Devi and Leader of Opposition Tejaswhi Prasad Yadav on Thursday clashed over a petty issue.
Facing strong protest from the security guards of the RJD leaders, district police made a hasty retreat with warnings to “inform the seniors.”
Trouble started when a team of the Sachivalaya police station led by its officer-in-charge was on patrol in the VVIP areas of Circular Road and Strand Road close to Raj Bhawan and residence of the Chief Minister and other ministers. The Sachivalaya police objected to the presence of “large” number of people at the 10, Circular Road and asked them to leave the place immediately.
Bhola Prasad Yadav, former RJD MLA present at the entrance of the bungalow to receive the party legislators at the meeting convened by the leader of opposition to plan Human Chain in support of the farmers, objected to the intervention of the Sachivalaya police and the abusive language allegedly used by them against the RJD supporters.
Soon, the security men and women deployed from the Bihar Military Police objected to the language of the officer-in-charge and alleged he asked them to remove the supporters of RJD. A woman security personnel said the officer-in-charge used foul language like: Tangri Faad Denge (will cut into; pieces your legs), Maar ke Bhagao (assault and remove them).
The other security guards joined the woman and asked the officer-in-charge to leave the place immediately. One of the constables was also heard threatening, “leave the place, otherwise I will have to fire.” Another policeman from Sachivalaya police station caught the security guard with his collars and fisticuffs ensured between the two uniformed persons.
The security men posted at Rabri-Tejashwi House alleged the Sachivalaya officer-in-charge always misbehaved with them and earlier too had asked them to disallow people from meeting Tejashwi.
Situation was calmed down following intervention by the senior party leaders who pacified both the groups of the police. Sachivalaya PS returned with threat of informing their seniors about the conduct of the security guards. On the other hand, the guards posted at 10, Circular Road alleged Sachivalaya police station ASI manhandled them.
Rabri Devi has a Z plus security cover and earlier NSG cover was provided to her. Tejashwi Yadav is having Z category security cover.
The opposition leader told media persons that police wanted to prevent people from meeting him. Last night, he had gone to meet the agitating nursing staff at a park here and had given an appointment to the agitating aspirants for different jobs today.
