No major terror attack had taken place in Jammu and Kashmir region after August 5, 2019—the day Article 370 was revoked.

Union minister of state for home affairs G Kishan Reddy said in the Rajya Sabha that the number of terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir have reduced significantly.

The minister informed that before August 5, 2019, 455 incidents of terrorist attack took place in the region from June 29, 2018 to August 04, 2019. While after August 5, 2019, 211 incidents were reported between August 05, 2019 and September 09, 2020.

The Government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism and has taken various measures, such as strengthening of security apparatus, strict enforcement of law against anti-national elements, intensified cordon and search operations to effectively deal with the challenges posed by the terrorist organisations.

Reddy said security Forces keep a close watch on persons who attempt to provide support to terrorists and initiate action against them.
