Raipur, September 14

The Chhattisgarh government on Saturday shunted Bastar Collector Vijay Dayaram that affected three officials of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in the process.

The 2015-batch IAS officer and Bastar Collector was reportedly under government scanner for non-performance. The decision to remove Dayaram came a day after Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai conducted a marathon meeting to review the administrative performance in the district.

The development necessitated a minor administrative reshuffle in the state. The 2015-batch IAS officer, Harish S will succeed Dayaram in Bastar. He was posted as Sukma Collector. Devesh Kumar Dhruv, the 2018-batch IAS officer and Bhilai Municipal Corporation Commissioner, has been posted as new District Collector of Sukma.

Just before the transfer of IAS officials, the state government had removed the 2010-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Girijashankar Jaiswal as the Mungeli Superintendent of Police.  The 2013-batch IPS officer, Bhojraj Patel will succeed him as the police chief of Mungeli district.

The action against the IAS and IPS officials just after the Collector-District Superintendent of Police conference held on Thursday and Friday had sent a message that Sai wanted performance at the district level.
