The Chhattisgarh Health Department has suspended three private hospitals registered under the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) in Mahasamund district for violating the scheme’s operational guidelines.
The suspended hospitals include Mahanadi Hospital, Mahasamund; Seva Bhawan Hospital, Village Jagdishpur (Pithora); and Ambika Hospital, Village Kharkhari (Saraipali).
As per the order issued, all three hospitals have been barred from providing treatment under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana for a period of three months.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. I. Nageshwar Rao informed that during the suspension period, these hospitals will not be allowed to provide treatment services to beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat. He emphasised that empanelled hospitals are required to provide free treatment to eligible patients as per the prescribed packages of the scheme, ensuring transparency and compliance with established norms.
Dr. Rao added that the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana aims to offer cashless healthcare benefits to eligible families. Therefore, strict adherence to the scheme’s provisions is mandatory for all registered hospitals.
Citizens have been urged to report any denial of free treatment or violations of the scheme’s guidelines by empanelled hospitals. Complaints can be lodged through the toll-free helpline number 104, or by submitting a written complaint to the Office of the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) or the concerned Block Medical Officer (BMO). Beneficiaries may also contact the toll-free number to obtain detailed information regarding the Ayushman Bharat – PM-JAY scheme, eligibility, and benefits available to them.
