Team News Riveting
Goa, October 28
The rift between the Congress and Trinamool Congress (TMC) seems to be widening as the latter fired a fresh salvo and charged the grand old party was confined to twitter.
In its mouthpiece Jago Bangla, the TMC stated, “Congress is just restricted to Twitter. They haven’t taken a major step in terms of an alliance.” The Mamata Banerjee-led TMC stated that the Congress party was solely restricted to Twitter and had taken no important step in the direction of forming an anti-BJP alliance.
This is the latest dig of the Bengal ruling party at Congress that has been under attack for the last couple of months. The TMC has been projecting the Congress party and its leaders as a failure to take on the BJP. The TMC has asserted that the grand old party cannot be trusted to defeat BJP.
“Congress can’t exit on the streets to provoke a motion. We have proven the best way to defeat the BJP. Do we simply look forward to them (Congress)? You can’t belief the Congress,” TMC stated in an editorial printed in Jago Bangla.
“The Congress will first have to handle its home, its leadership and the conflict amongst themselves. TMC is at the forefront of ousting the BJP. You have to agree that in the last 7 years, Congress is not able to fight with BJP and it is losing, while TMC is winning wherever it is fighting BJP. That’s the difference,” TMC added.
The criticism comes ahead of Mamata Banerjee’s Goa visit on Thursday. The TMC is increasing its footprint in Goa; projecting itself as the substitute of Congress to combat the BJP.
