Union Home Minister Amit Shah reached Amar Shaheed Vatika in Jagdalpur today on the second day of his Bastar visit and paid tribute to the Jawans who made supreme sacrifice for the motherland.

He paid tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives in the operations against the Left-Wing Extremists (LWE). The Minister laid a wreath at the Amar Jawan Stambh.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma were present on the occasion.

The Union Home Minister later planted sapling under the Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam campaign. He planted a Peepal tree in the campus while Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai also planted a Rudraksha plant in memory of the martyrs.

Shah expressed his views in the visitor book. He wrote that the country will always be indebted to the security forces for their martyrdom.
