Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid a courtesy visit to the family members of senior police officer Akash Rao Giripunje at Nava Raipur.
Giripunje, who was Additional Superintendent of Police in Sukma, was martyred in the IED blast detonated by the banned Maoists. Shah met the bereaved family and expressed deep condolences and consoled them.
The Union Home Minister praised the bravery and sacrifice of martyr Additional Superintendent of Police Akash Rao Giripunje and said that his martyrdom is unforgettable for the country. He stressed that the country will always be indebted to his sacrifice and his martyrdom will never be allowed to go in vain. Describing the courage of the martyr as inspirational, Shah termed his contribution as invaluable to the nation.
On this occasion, Shah assured the family of the martyr that the government stands with them at every step. He said that the government was committed to provide all possible assistance to the families of the martyrs.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and State Home Minister Vijay Sharma were also present on the occasion.
