The 1990-batch Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, V Srinivasa Rao has been appointed as the Head of the Forest Forces (HoFF) in Chhattisgarh.
Last month, he was promoted and appointed as the acting Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) of Chhattisgarh. On May 2, the state government issued an order and granted him full charge of the coveted position.
On Monday, he was appointed as the HoFF. It is the highest rank of an officer of the Indian Forest Service in a State. At times the states may have more than one post of PCCF and in that case, one of them is designated as the Head of Forest Force (HOFF).
Before being elevated to the top position in the department, Rao has served in many important positions in the department. He hails from Hyderabad in Telangana state.
