Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and his brother Tejpratap, both sons of RJD president, Lalu Prasad who were earlier opposed to vaccination against Corona on Wednesday morning were administered first doses of Russia made Sputnik vaccine at a private hospital in Kankarbagh colony.
Vaccine hesitant Lalu sons disclosed they visited Medanta Jaiprabha hospital and got Sputnik vaccines as safety against Corona. They also appealed to the people to get vaccinated without delay.
At a meeting of the party legislators and presidents of the district units of RJD, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Tuesday had appealed to the workers to take vaccines as protection against Corona. Till Monday, on his return from three months stay in New Delhi to look after Lalu Prasad, leader of opposition in Bihar assembly, Tejashwi was saying he would not take vaccine till 70 per cent people of the state were vaccinated.
On Tuesday, some BJP leaders had reportedly advised Tejashwi to take vaccine and allayed apprehensions that Corona vaccine leads to impotency. Tejashwi is unmarried.
Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, had also criticised Tejashwi for not taking vaccine so far and said he had no right to speak on behalf of Vaccine hesitant party workers. He alleged by not taking vaccine, Lalu sons were in fact misleading the poor party workers and landing them into health trouble.
Tejashwi said anti-Corona vaccine was effective for one year only. His elder brother Tejpratap is a former health minister. The two sons of Lalu did not visit government run vaccination centres but went to the private hospital in Patna.
