Gaza, October 19
As part of the war strategy, the Israeli fighter planes have bombarded bakeries in Gaza in a move aimed to propel Palestinians to surrender.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have launched a massive attack on Gaza Strip after Hamas terror group’s devastating onslaught on October 7 that killed some 1,300 Israelis, most of them civilians. At least 155 people were abducted by terrorists during the assault and are being held inside the Gaza Strip.
Israeli warplanes bombed Nuseirat and Yazigi bakeries in Gaza. The Nuseirat Bakery, one of the largest and among the remaining few providing essential bread to residents, had recently extended its hours to operate 24/7, to provide access to bread for the community
“Israeli occupation is launching strong airstrikes against the bakeries of the Gaza Strip. The airstrikes demolished the Nuseirat bakery, and now the Yazigi bakery. The Israeli occupation is destroying major centers that feed thousands of residents of the Gaza Strip.”
The Nuseirat refugee camp is one of the largest, if not the largest in size in the whole Gaza Strip. It is a home to over 100,000 people. Following the start of the Israeli war, an additional 100,000 people, mostly coming from northern Gaza, have taken shelter in the already crowded camp.
As food began running low, the two bakeries in the camp became the only source of bread for over 200,000 people. But Tuesday evening, Israeli planes bombed one of the two bakeries. Though three workers were also killed, the target was to destroy the supply in which the Israeli forces succeeded.
Analysts believed that the bakery was attacked by Israel to worsen the already horrific humanitarian crisis and thus pushing Palestinians to surrender.
