Mrs Chhaya Mishra, leading woman lawyer of Patna High Court and Vice President of Advocates Association on Wednesday announced she would extend free legal assistance to the families of two mahadalit minor girls of Phulwarisharif in the state capital
The two minor girls who had gone to collect firewood were reportedly kidnapped and gang raped. One of the girls was brutally killed and another survivor is struggling at All India Institute of Medical Sciences here
Mrs Chhaya Mishra regretted the casual approach of local police and quoting the statement of physically disabled mother of one of the victims ,she said police asked her to search her daughter.
Had the police acted, the girls could have been saved, she said and demanded immediate dismissal of the police man concerned. Mrs Chhaya Mishra said the concept of people friendly police was the paper only.
She assured she would fight for justice to the poor victims in the special court free and ensure death sentence to the perpetrators of the heinous crime by the POCSO Court at Patnam
