Union Minister Hardeep Puri has tweeted a photo of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath portraying his simplicity even in his childhood; don in simple clothes and slippers.
The Minister wrote in the tweet – A simple child from a small village. Old clothes on body, slippers on feet, but resolve to serve the public in mind. A childhood photo of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, before graduating in science and fully dedicated to public service.
Amidst the Uttar Pradesh elections, this photo of Yogi became quite viral on social media. Many users have commented on this photo posted by Hardeep Puri. Within twenty-four hours, more than five thousand people retweeted this photo and more than forty thousand people have liked it.
The photo of Yogi Adityanath tweeted by the Union Minister is in front of his house in Panchur, Uttarakhand. Then Yogi was known as Ajay Singh, born on 5 June 1972 in Panchur village of Yamkeshwar tehsil located in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. His father Anand Singh Bisht was a forest ranger.
Yogi Adityanath has done B.Sc in Mathematics from Garhwal University. He came to Gorakhpur to do research on Guru Gorakhnath in the year 1993. While living there, he came in contact with the then Goraksh Peethadhishwar Mahant Avaidyanath, who left a great influence on his young mind. Goraksh Peethadhishwar was also influenced by him. After taking sanyas, Ajay Singh became Yogi Adityanath. He became Gorakshapeethadhishwar after his guru Mahant Avadyanath took the samadhi in September 2014.
He is also included in the list of youngest Members of Parliament to reach the Lok Sabha. He was elected MP for the first time in 1998. When he reached the 12th Lok Sabha as an MP, he was just 26 years old. After this, Adityanath was elected consecutively in 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014 as well.
After the formation of the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh in 2017, Yogi resigned from Parliament and became the Chief Minister. He is now a member of the Legislative Council.
