The officers and personnel of Gadchiroli police have bagged as many as 46 medals for gallantry and meritorious service.
Besides three Shourya Chakra, 41 police medals for gallantry and two police medals for meritorious service had been awarded to the Gadchiroli police on the occasion of 76th Independence Day.
03 Shourya Chakra, 42 Police medal for Gallantry and 02 Police medal for meritorious service received by Gadchiroli Police.
The Shourya Chakra recipients include Somay Munde, IPS, Additional Superintendent of Police, Gadchiroli, Ravindra Naitam and Tikaram Katenge. Manish Kalwaniya, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Aurangabad, Sameer Shaikh, IPS, Additional Superintendent of Police, Gadchiroli were among 41 policemen who received Police Medal for Gallantry.
Police medal for meritorious service was awarded to Pravin Bezalwar and Pramod Dhore, both Assistant Sub Inspector of Police.
The Gadchiroli police said the officers and personnel who received the Medals have shown remarkable and distinctive performances during the anti-Naxal operation in the forested areas while a few even giving supreme sacrifice. In order to applaud and honour their great performance, the officers and personnel of Gadchiroli were awarded the gallantry medals.
