Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said the state was trudging down the road marked for development as the government was committed to cherishing the dreams of freedom fighters and brave leaders.

Addressing the people of the state after unfurling the National Tricolour at Morhabadi ground in Ranchi on the occasion of 76th Independence Day, the Chief Minister assured the people of Jharkhand that the state was on the path of development. He said 75 per cent of the jobs under the control of the state government would be reserved for the local people where the employee could draw a salary up to Rs 40,000. The government has constituted the “Employment of Local Candidates in the Private Sector of Jharkhand State Act, 2021”.

He said that Jharkhand was progressing in every field. Whether it is in the field of health, education or sports. Soren said that from November 15, ‘CM-SARTHI’ scheme is being started for the youth of the state, under which incentive allowance will be made available along with providing free training for various competitive examinations. “We are coming up with the ‘Guruji-Student Credit Card’ scheme so that children do not face financial problems for studying in reputed institutions of the country,” he added.

The Chief Minister said the old pension would be restored soon. He said he had made a promise regarding the restoration of old pensions for government employees. A proposal in this regard has also been passed from the cabinet. The process of making SOP is progressing, soon it will be fully implemented.

Soren said new policies had been formulated to speed up development works in the state that had been endowed with mineral resources and full of possibilities. For this purpose, special attention has been given to sectors especially food processing, renewable energy, logistics, minerals and textile-based industries. Establishment of labor-based industries will create new employment opportunities in the state, while on the other hand the identity of Jharkhand as an industrial state will be re-established with the setting up of industries based on new and modern technology.

The Chief Minister said a new tourism policy, 2021 has been notified by the government to establish the state as a tourist destination. In this tourism policy, there is a provision to give various types of incentives on investment in the tourism sector in the state. Along with this, infrastructure is being constructed in and around tourist places to provide all the necessary facilities to the tourists coming from outside the state and the state.
