The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday started the investigation into the Chhattisgarh Biranpur murder case in which a youth was brutally murdered allegedly by the members of minority community.
The officials of the CBI Saturday morning landed in Raipur and drove straight away to Biranpur in Bemetara district. The agency has filed the FIR against 12 people under IPC sections 147, 148, 149, 336, 307, 302 and 120-B in connection with the brutal murder of Bhuvaneshwar Sahu that took place in April 2024.
According to reports, children studying in classes 07-08 in the village were returning from school when boys from a community working at a junk shop beat them up. As tension flared up, a meeting was held between the members of both the communities. When the victim went to the area dominated by the minorities with his friends in the afternoon, the members started pelting stones from the terrace.
The victim fell down and sustained head injuries. Thereafter, the 12 accused and others brutally stabbed Bhuvaneshwar Sahu with sharp knives and deadly weapons. He died on the spot.
During their investigation, the local police found criminal evidence against 12 FIR named accused and arrested them. Subsequently, the local police filed a charge sheet before the court. At present, all the chargesheeted accused are in judicial custody. The case was kept open for further investigation under Section 173(8) of CrPC and will now be investigated by CBI.

Baseer Khan son of Bahal Khan, 4. Mukhtar Mohammad son of Rashid Mohammad 5. Safiq Mohammad son of Pila Mohammad 6. Abdul Khan son of Akbar Khan, 7. Akbar Khan son of Ramzan Khan. 8. Mohammad Janab, son of Nizamuddin Khan. 9. Ayub Khan son of Sardar Khan. 10. Nizamuddin son of Karmuddin. 11. Rashid Khan son of Bahal Khan. 12. Kallu Khan son of Jamal Khan, all residents of village Shaktighat Biranpur, police station Saja, Bemetra.
