Ranchi, April 27

A high-level delegation of Central Electricity Regulatory Authority (CERC) led by Chairperson Jishnu Barua, (Retired IAS) visited coal mining headquarters of the NTPC Mining Limited (NML) in Ranchi.

Shivam Srivastava, Director (Fuel), NTPC & Chairman (NML) hosted the delegation and apprised of the operations and challenges faced in Mining to the CERC delegation in the august presence of Jaishankar Srinivasan, Director (Finance), NTPC.

During the delegation’s visit to Ranchi, the team had an interaction with the senior officials of NTPC Coal Mining Region with a brief presentation on NTPC and Coal Mining operations.

The CERC delegation visited NTPC ‘s Flagship project, Pakri Barwadih Mines at Hazaribag. The delegation visited the NTPC Coal mines to study mining operations. The visit covered Pakri Barwadih viewpoint to have bird’s view of the operation and overburden (OB) area. On the occasion, the members of the delegation interacted with the women dump drivers and encouraged them for making their valuable contributions.

Post mine visit, the CERC team appreciated the efforts made by NTPC for adapting best practices & achieving stellar performance during the recent times under the banner of NTPC Mining Limited (NML).

The delegation team included Arun Goyal, Member, (Finance), Pravas Kumar Singh, Member (Law), Harpreet Singh Pruthi, Secretary, Rajeev Pushkarna, Chief, Finance Division, Dr S K Chatterjee Chief, Regulatory Affairs.

Animesh Jain, Regional Executive Director (Coal Mining) and CEO (NML), Faiz Tayab, Head of Project, Pakri Barwadih Coal Mining project, Rajnish Rastogi, CGM(HR), members from Corporate Commercial team along with Heads of various Depts from Coal Mining HQ and Coal Mining projects were present during the visit.
