Raipur, January 22
The Rashtra Chetana Sangham organised by the Raipur Mahanagar of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) expressed concern over the threat to Hinduism arising out of religious conversion.
Asserting that transformation has started taking place in every sphere of life in India, RSS Sahsarkaryavah Mukund said quotes and rules could change in the society but not the values.
“For thousands of years, the values of Hinduism remain the same though the medium of prayer might have changed,” Mukund said while addressing a mammoth gathering at the Rashtra Chetna Sangham organised by the Raipur Mahanagar of the RSS. Besides a large number of Swayamsevak, Sadhus, heads of different samaj and organisations besides prominent citizens of Chhattisgarh capital were present at the function.
Mukund called upon the Swayamsevak and the people to protect “dharma”. Contending that dharma was above society, he said it needed to be protected. Hindu Dharma is facing challenges and the Swayamsevak are standing tall to protect it; a mission with which RSS was formed by Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, he said, adding that if the Swayamsevak did not stand up to the occasion, the coming generation would quiz what they had done to protect the Hindu dharma.
The RSS Sahsarkaryavah India was fast transforming in every field that include economy, education, security, ideology, harmony etc. The RSS Swayamsevak are working in all sections and in the sectors where the country requires them, he said. Becoming a Swayamsevak is not an easy task; it is a daily effort and the person has to follow the values and ethics. “It is a matter of pride to become an RSS Swayamsevak,” Mukund said while urging the Sadhus and heads of different samaj to understand the organisation and extend their support.
The President of Akhil Bharatiya Gond Mahasabha, Mangal Das Thakur presided over the function. He said India had been known for its diversity. In the past, the Muslim rulers invaded followed by the missionaries. The rulers of the Gond community have a glorious past to foil the mission of foreign invaders.
“Efforts are in full swing to destroy the Hindu Dharma,” he said. And it was the responsibility of the society to come forward and give a befitting reply, Thakur said. Expressing concern over the increasing activities of Christian missionaries targeting the tribal community, Thakur said people should vow that they would not allow entry of such elements in their location.
Emphasising that samaj will be safe only when Dharma exists, Thakur said if they failed to protect, probably next war would be fought on Dharma.
