Jindal (India) Limited, part of the BC Jindal Group and one of the leading downstream steel products manufacturers in India, has been honoured with the 17th CIDC Vishwakarma Award 2026 for its Continuous Galvanizing Line (CGL) and Colour Coating Line (CCL-3) project at its Ranihati manufacturing facility in Howrah, West Bengal.

The prestigious award was bestowed upon Jindal (India) Limited, in the presence of Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways, by Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) at the Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi.

The BC Jindal Group, led by Shyam Sunder Jindal, promoter BC Jindal Group, was given the coveted award in recognition of the outstanding work and contribution especially in meeting health, safety, and environmental standards. This award positions the group as one of the country’s top contributors to infrastructure and industrial excellence.

The CIDC Vishwakarma Awards are among the most respected recognitions in India’s construction and infrastructure sector, celebrating excellence in project execution, innovation, and adherence to best-in-class safety practices. The annual awards are presented by the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), a premier body established to promote best practices and innovation in India’s construction sector.

The construction of The CGL and CCL-3 plant is just another result of how we implement projects through an integration of global know-how with effective on-ground skills’’ the spokesperson added.

The award-winning facility in Ranihati, Howrah is a big step forward for the steel coating industry. The factory makes high-quality coated steel goods for industries such as consumer electronics, solar automotive, and infrastructure. It also backs the Make in India program, which promotes making things in India instead of relying on imports.

Recently, Jindal (India) Limited earned the globally recognized ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications for its environmental management system (EMS) and occupational health and safety management systems (OH&S), further reinforcing its commitment to sustainable and responsible manufacturing.

The company also retained its ISO 9001 certification for quality management following a comprehensive audit by Indian Register Quality Systems (IRQS), underscoring its adherence to global standards across quality, safety, and environmental compliance at its Ranihati facility.
