Chhattisgarh chopper crash kills both pilots

Raipur, May 12

A helicopter owned by the Chhattisgarh government crashed at the Raipur airport killing both the pilots Thursday night.

The AgustaWestland model chopper was on a trial flight when it crashed at the airport. Both the pilots Captain Panda and Captain Srivastava died in the crash.

The incident took place at around 9 pm today. The probe by the Director-General of Civil Aviation will reveal the reason that led to the tragic incident.

The chopper had flown Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel yesterday. The senior bureaucrats of the state government had also returned from the tour in the same chopper on Wednesday.

The weather condition in and around Raipur airport was clear for flying. The pilot reportedly lost control during landing that led to the tragic incident.
