Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today launched the Census 2027 campaign by completing his online self-enumeration at the Chief Minister’s residence in Raipur. By entering his own details on the portal, he sent a message encouraging citizens to actively participate in this national exercise.

The Chief Minister said that India is conducting the world’s largest census exercise, and in Chhattisgarh, the online self-enumeration process has begun from today. Citizens can submit details of their families through the online portal between April 16 and April 30, 2026. He added that this time the census has been given a modern, digital format to make the process more transparent and accessible.

He emphasized that the census is not merely a collection of data, but a crucial foundation for determining the future direction of both the country and the state. The data collected helps the government design policies and development plans for the coming years, ensuring that the benefits of growth reach every section of society.

The Chief Minister informed that the first phase of the census will begin on May 1, 2026, focusing on house listing and enumeration. Until May 30, enumerators will visit households to collect information about residential and non-residential buildings, their condition and usage, and access to basic amenities such as drinking water, sanitation, electricity, cooking gas, internet, and communication facilities.

He urged citizens to provide accurate, clear, and complete information when enumerators visit their homes, as every detail plays an important role in shaping the state’s development. He also assured that all personal information collected during the census will be kept strictly confidential and used only for statistical and policy-making purposes.

Highlighting the state’s progress, the Chief Minister said Chhattisgarh is rapidly moving forward on the path of development, and the census will play a key role in achieving the vision of “Developed Chhattisgarh 2047.” Accurate data forms the basis of effective planning and sustainable growth. He appealed to all citizens to make this census a participatory movement and contribute actively.

Senior officials, including Additional Chief Secretary and Census Nodal Officer Manoj Kumar Pingua, Raipur Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, Director of Census Kartikeya Goyal, and others were present on the occasion.
