Chhattisgarh reports cases of new omicron sub-variant

The new variant of COVID omicron sub-variant has finally entered Chhattisgarh as two cases have been found in the state capital.

The new variant of omicron BF 7 has been confirmed in two women, sources in the health department said. Travel history of both the women have been found. While one woman had returned from the UK to Raipur, while the other woman had travelled from Hyderabad. The contact tracing of both has also been done.

However, it is a matter of relief that both the women are still healthy and no one in their family is infected. The officials said in the investigation, none of the family members have symptoms of corona. The two women who got omicron, both of them have recovered after being in home isolation.

According to the information, BF7.2.1 variant has been found in the UK returned woman. The contact tracing did not find symptoms of corona in anyone else that was a great relief to the authorities.

However, the health department officials said that there was nothing to worry about but vigilance and awareness were very important.
