Chhattisgarh to set up 45 units of cow-dung paint

Chhattisgarh government will be setting up 45 units for producing natural paint from the cow dung.

According to state government spokesperson, approval has been given for 45 units to be constructed in the state, including 26 Gauthans with units making natural paint from cow dung. The Bhupesh Baghel government has been procuring cow dung under its ambitious scheme and has taken initiative for its value addition to get better dividend.

The Gauthan built for livestock conservation and promotion in the state is rapidly evolving into a rural industrial park, the spokesperson said.  Together with other income-oriented activities in Gauthans, the production of natural paint from cow dung has begun swiftly.

Now, 19 units are producing natural paint from cow dung. So far, the functional units have produced 44,160 liters of natural paint, with a profit of Rs 47 lakh 71 thousand earned from the sale of 26,292 liters.

Meanwhile, a total of 45 paint production units have been certified for manufacturing natural paint from cow dung, with 19 units starting production after their installation. In addition to this, 3 units each have been established in Raipur and Durg districts, 2 units each have been established in Korba district, while 1 unit each has been established and is functional in Kanker, Balod, Korea, Kondagaon, Dantewada, Bijapur, Bemetara, Surajpur, Surguja, Narayanpur, and Bastar districts respectively.  

It is worth mentioning that, so far Raipur district has manufactured the highest 20,841 liters of Gobar paint in 3 units, while other districts have manufactured 7878 liters in Kanker, 2900 liters in Durg, 1300 liters in Balod, 200 liters in Korba, 800 liters in Korea, 3868 liters in Kondagaon, 1343 liters in Dantewada, 1090 liters in Bijapur, 500 liters in Bemetara, Surajpur 500 liters, 1840 liters in Bastar, 400 liters in Surguja and 700 liters in Narayanpur of natural paint has been produced, with that an income of Rs 47.71 lakh has been earned from the sale of the produced paint.
