Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi battles cancer

Patna, April 3

The BJP veteran in Bihar, Sushil Kumar Modi today announced he would not be able to play active role in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections since he had been battling with cancer.

Modi, whose term as a member in Rajya Sabha expired on Wednesday, returned from New Delhi was taken to his vehicle on a wheel chair. He appeared visibly sick and told waiting media persons he would not be able to campaign.

While sharing a post on X, he said, “I have been battling cancer for the last 6 months. Now I feel that the time has come to tell people. I will not be able to do anything in the Lok Sabha elections. I have told everything to the PM. Always grateful and always dedicated to the country, Bihar and the party

He had been Deputy Chief Minister four times, leader of opposition and Bihar finance minister for 20 years. He has distinction of being member of all the four Houses of Bihar legislature and Parliament. He was Chairman of group of ministers on GST also.

Modi said he has informed the Prime Minister about his illness.
