NMDC sales surge 34% in first four months of fiscal

The cumulative sales of the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) Limited till July 2023 has surged about 34 per cent compared to the corresponding period of last financial year.

Country’s largest iron ore producer and exporter has sold 14.18 million tonnes (MT) of iron ore in the first four months of the current financial year (2023-24). The growth is 33.52 per cent compared to 10.62 MT sold by the company during the corresponding period of the last financial year.

Besides, production has also increased during the period. The company informed in a regulatory filing today that it had produced 13.15 MT of iron ore during April-July 2023, which is up by 19.02 per cent compared to previous year. During the corresponding period in the last fiscal, NMDC Limited had produced 10.97 MT.

Though the sales dropped to 2.71 per cent in the month of July 2023 compared to previous year, the production continued to remain in the growth trajectory. NMDC Limited produced 2.44 MT iron ore in the first four months of the current fiscal and registered a growth of 19.02 per cent compared to previous year’s output of 2.05 MT.
