NMDC slashes iron ore prices

National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) Limited has slashed the price of iron ore lump by Rs 300 a tonne and that of iron ore lump by Rs 100 a tonne.

The country’s largest iron ore miner said it had fixed the prices of lump ore at Rs 4200 per tonne while price of iron ore fines would come down to Rs 4010 per tonne. The prices exclude royalty, District Mineral Fund (DMF), National Mineral Exploration Trust (DMET), cess, forest permit fee, and other taxes.

The revised prices would come into effect from April 29, 2023, the mining major said in a regulatory filing today

Last month, NMDC had increased the price of iron ore lump by Rs 100 a tonne and that of fines by Rs 200 for a similar quantity with effect from March 21. Consequently, the price per tonne was fixed at Rs 4,500 for lump ore and Rs 4,110 for fines.
