The Patna-based former journalist of The Times of India, Law Kumar Mishra had an expected call last night. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi was on the line.

On Friday night, Modi telephoned Mishra and had a very casual and informal discussion. Mishra was posted in Gujarat when Modi was a Pracharak of RSS. As Times of India’s Special Correspondent at Srinagar and Bhopal in the late 90s and 1998, Mishra has been interacting with Modi, who was the party’s General Secretary.

Mishra said the Prime Minister talked as if lost friends were meeting after a long gap. “The Prime Minister was in a happy mood and cracked jokes,” Mishra said, adding that he said for him Sun rise was in the west today as I got his (Mishra’s) contact number today.

He recollected his experiences with Mishra. The Prime Minister told Mishra that now, he had his contact number and would meet him at Patna next time. He also shared the bomb blast that took place in his rally in Patna in October 2013.

Mishra, an eminent journalist now settled in Patna, has worked in many states including Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Odisha and Jammu-Kashmir.
