Irked over the allegations of land scam by JDU State President Umesh Kushwaha, former Steel Minister and former National President of JDU RCP Singh on Saturday evening resigned from the primary membership of the party.

Making the announcement at a hurriedly called press conference, RCP Singh he has been humiliated by the small time leaders of the party who complained against him and before the show cause notice could reach his Mustafapur residence, it has been made public.

He alleged the two aspirants of the CM office, National President Lallan Singh and Parliamentary Board Chairman Upendra Kushwaha were behind the conspiracy to malign him.

” I can not carry the bag of the small time leaders, hence I have resigned from the primary membership of JDU’, he said.

Earlier in the day, state JDU Chief had asked RCP Singh to reply to the charges that he had misused his office and purchased 58 plots in the name of his wife, two daughters in his native Asthawan and Islampur in Nalanda district.

According to his own party leaders, Singh had purchased 40 bighas of land in nine years in just two places. He did not disclose it in the affidavits filed before Election Commission during Rajya Sabha elections, the notice sent by state JDU said.

Singh has hinted floating his own political party. The former Union Minister has hand written the pointed letter addressed to State President stating he was resigning from the primary membership of the party.
