SAIL-RSP trains woman artisans in bamboo craft

Thirty woman artisans of Purnapani and Bhalulata villages were trained by SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant on value added Bamboo Craft.

In the valedictory function held at Institute for Peripheral Development, Dilip Kumar Bhanja, CGM (Power Distribution) was the Chief Guest and handed over the certificates and tool kits to the trainees on successful completion of the training.

Present on the occasion were Ms. Munmun Mittra, GM (CSR), T B Toppo, AGM (CSR), Upasana Dungdung, Handicraft Promotion Officer (Sundargarh), Ms. Rini Sinha, Head Women’s Section (SRI, Ranchi) and other Officials of concerned organisations.

The total duration of the training programme was of 45 days. The first phase of seven days was conducted at the Institute of Periphery Development of RSP, while and the rest of   training was imparted at Purnapani Gram Panchayat Building, Nuagaon Block. The training was conducted in collaboration with Society for Rural Industrialisation, Ranchi.

The trainees were given hand on training in making of Pen Stand, Flower Vase, Ash Tray, Wall Hanger, Letter Box, Designed Soop, Tokri, Dustbin, Fruit Basket Frame, Stool, Table Salt Holder, Ship, birds and many other household and decorative items.
