Bharatiya Janata Party and its NDA allies have emerged triumphant in the just concluded assembly elections in four out of five states. In a South Indian state, Telengana, Indian National Congress emerged victor to form the next government. The question or query might erupt in our mind that what could be the key issues behind BJP’s triumph and how they are going to deliver goods during the coming five years. Now BJP has achieved unique reckoning not only in domestic segments but also in international segments too. During the just concluded assembly elections, the striking aspect to be noted is about the states like Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. In both the above states, Indian National Congress were dominating the show in the last assembly sessions. Now let me take up the case separately with Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh debacle.

BJP is in the forefront of Indian political stage during the past nine years. It is on May 2024 the party will complete full ten years of ruling in India.

Current BJP ruling is a different one under the dynamic leadership of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister. Though there might be differences of opinion during the regime. But Narendra Modi’s diplomatic prowess and dynamism is so profound and introspective that has cast niche and impact not only within the domestic level but also on the international level too.

Now coming to the issue of the achievements of Narendra Modi during the past ten years. It is no doubt a broad-based hypothesis in it. Anyhow in order to make my column vibrant let me touch upon the achievements of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of India from the years 2014 to 2024.

Among the diverse achievements of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of India, some of the common ones are stated as such, caring for the girl child, leveraging the power of Jan Dhan, Aadhar and Mobile, a holistic approach towards development, motivating India’s entrepreneurial energy, namami Ganga (uplifting Ganga), powering India’s growth, putting Indian economy on a faster track, empowering for a prosperous India etc.

Now let me touch up about the glorious victory of BJP in states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Only exceptional part is that about Telengana. Though Telengana falls under South Indian part of India. In all South Indian states, I find that there is the temptation on the part of the citizens to be more pro-Congress. I have grave doubts in this regard that the citizens will hardly have penchant towards INC (Indian National Congress).

Firstly, let me take up the issue with Rajasthan. The key weakness noticeable with Gehlot government are stated as such, personality clash with his close colleagues, the former chief minister’s reach to the masses was of a murky type, lack of industrialisation in the state, citizens of the state lost full faith upon Congress party, caste inclination is also one of the biggest issue in the state, various welfare schemes as enunciated by the erstwhile regime did not go positively upon the voters etc. The population of the state is just 8.36 crores. Out of the total population of Rajasthan, I find 88% of the state population are from Hindu religion and balance 12% are from Muslim religion. The economy of the state is purely dependent upon tourism, rich minerals, agriculture and mining. The approach of erstwhile Ashok Gehlot was very much positivist in approach, but somehow or rather his approach did not bear fruit. The GDP of Rajasthan is estimated to be around Rs 14 lakh crore. Thus, the new chief minister of Rajasthan will be Bhajan Lal Sharma.

Now coming to Chhattisgarh, which was previously ruled by Indian National Congress regime. The party did not cast any niche upon state voters. The population of the state is around 3 crores. Among the populations of Chhattisgarh, I find that there are 23.8 million populations are Hindus, 4.91 populations are Christians and finally 5.15 are Muslims. The economy of the state is dependent upon mining, agriculture, energy production and manufacturing. States GDP is estimated to be around Rs 5 lakh crore. The state is also well known as one of the best aluminium belts of the nation. From the information available with this writer from Kolkata. That the Chhattisgarh is so highly developed which motivated the people from other parts of India to settle down in this state for employment purpose. The new chief minister of Chhattisgarh is Vishnu Deo Sai, who has been appointed by the BJP Central High Command, New Delhi. Capital city is Raipur.

Now coming to Madhya Pradesh issue, the state has prospered under the leadership of former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The population of the state is around 9 crores. The new chief minister of Madhya Pradesh will be Mohan Jadav. It is quite surprising that why former chief minister of MP has not been appointed to this coveted throne of the state. However, it seems to me Shiv Raj Chauhan will be in charge of party activities of the state. The achievements of the state are already known to my revered readers. They are all looking out for a prosperous Madhya Pradesh during the upcoming five years. Capital city is Bhopal.

While throwing light about Telengana states. I find that people of the state have expressed faith upon Congress government. The new chief minister is Revanth Reddy. Telengana is a by-product of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh state. The state was born during the last days of Congress government of India. Former chief minister of the state was K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Population of this 29th state is around 40 million. The capital city is Hyderabad. The economy of the state is dependent upon power sector, tourism, agriculture etc. Telangana is regarded as the fifth largest state to contribute towards GDP share in Indian economy.

The last state which I was missing is that of a North Eastern state of India, Mizoram. The population of the state is around 13.08 lakhs. Among the above figures, it is found that there are approximately 6.62 lakhs are male population whereas 6.46 lakhs are female population. The economy of the state is dependent upon tourism, agriculture and various types of construction work. There have been heavy investments being made in educational areas. Among the major academic institutes based in the state are St Xavier’s College, Technical Institute of Mizoram and Helen Lowry College of Arts and Commerce. In the energy sector, there are two Hydro Power Plants, such as 60 MW Tuirial Dam and 12 MW Serlui B Dam. There is also a proposal to set up 12 MW Solar Power plant in the state. The capital city is Aizwal. The new chief minister of the state is Mr PU Lalduhoma. Mr Lalduhoma is from Zoram Peoples’ Movement.

Despite the change in governance in states like Telangana, BJP and NDA Alliance will remain in the driver seat. In the aftermath of Indian Parliamentary election, BJP will no doubt be voted back to power. What I perceive that the common citizens of India have lost full faith upon Indian National Congress and INDIA allies. INC and opposition have no proper cohesion, then how can we vote them back to power. In this regard, I feel there is no alternative force in comparison to BJP. If BJP comes back to power, the economy of India will swing towards higher growth trajectory.
